Abstract:
On November 9, 2022, at 06:07 UTC, an earthquake of ML 5.7 (Mw 5.5) occurred off the northern Marche coast, Italy (http://terremoti.ingv.it/en/event/33301831).
The earthquake caused no victims, but a lot of fear among the population: schools closed and numerous checks in strategic structures of the Region. A few minutes after the earthquake occurred, the SISMIKO operational group, the coordination of the INGV emergency seismic networks, was activated.
SISMIKO has prepared and carried out in the following 24 hours, the installation of 8 seismic mobile stations, equipped with short-period velocimeters and accelerometers, whose data was transmitted in real time. All stations had been integrated into the INGV seismic monitoring and surveillance system and available to the scientific community, without any restrictions.
