Finite source from geodetic data
Rupture distribution along the seismic source derived from the analysis of displacement maps obtained from Alos-2 (Jaxa) and Sentinel-1 (Copernicus Project) satellite images. Displacement data produced by EPOSAR service run by CNRIREA and INGV GeoSAR Lab with sarscape (sarmap).

Focal Plane FP1

This source model, derived from 4 InSAR dataset(s) including from 1 to 7 days after the event, is characterized by a single SSW-NNE oriented fault (strike 28°), dipping towards the ESE at 68° degrees and a mainly reverse rupture with a left-lateral component (rake 80°). The rake angle has been fixed according to the focal mechanism. Slip peak is approximately 4.2 m at a depth of 32.7 km. The energy released is 1.23E+20 Nm, corresponding to an M 7.4 earthquake. InSAR data, model and ancillary information can be found in the data_and_model.zip file, available for download
Expected surface displacement scenario
This section shows maps of the predicted surface displacement based on a finite fault derived from focal mechanisms. Images contain maps of simulated displacement; they only provide qualitative indications about the expected displacement. Use the pull-down menu to select a scenario from those available. Finite fault dimensions and mean slip are based on the scaling factore in Leonard (2010), doi 10.1785/0120090189. Scenarios are available only for a limited period after the event
