Finite source from geodetic data
Rupture distribution along the seismic source derived from the analysis of displacement maps obtained from Sentinel-1 (Copernicus Project) satellite images. Displacement data produced by EPOSAR service run by CNRIREA.

Focal Plane FP2

This source model, derived from 2 InSAR dataset(s) including from 7 to 8 days after the event, is characterized by a single SE-NW oriented fault (strike 308°), dipping towards the NE at 53° degrees and a mainly inverse rupture with a left-lateral component (rake 78°). Slip peak is approximately 1.2 m at a depth of 8.3 km. The energy released is 8.52E+17 Nm, corresponding to an M 5.9 earthquake. InSAR data, model and ancillary information can be found in the data_and_model.zip file, available for download
Expected surface displacement scenario
This section shows maps of the predicted surface displacement based on a finite fault derived from focal mechanisms. Images contain maps of simulated displacement; they only provide qualitative indications about the expected displacement. Use the pull-down menu to select a scenario from those available. Finite fault dimensions and mean slip are based on the scaling factore in Leonard (2010), doi 10.1785/0120090189. Scenarios are available only for a limited period after the event
