The rupture distribution along the seismic source is derived from the analysis of displacement maps (InSAR) obtained through the processing of Sentinel-1, European Space Agency, radar images. InSAR data are produced by the EPOSAR (IREA-CNR) service.
Focal Plane FP1
This source model, derived from 2 InSAR dataset(s) including from 1 to 2 days after the event, is characterized by a single NE-SW oriented fault (strike 231°), dipping towards the NW at 49° degrees and a mainly left-lateral rupture with normal component (rake -15°). Slip peak is approximately 1.7 m at a depth of 7.1 km. The energy released is 3.1E+18 Nm, corresponding to an M 6.3 earthquake.
