The rupture distribution along the seismic source is derived from the analysis of displacement maps (InSAR) obtained through the processing of Sentinel-1, European Space Agency, radar images. InSAR data are produced by the EPOSAR (IREA-CNR) service.
Focal Plane FP2
This source model, derived from 4 InSAR dataset(s) including from 0 to 6 days after the event, is characterized by a single E-W oriented fault (strike 260°), dipping towards the N at 79° degrees and a nearly pure right-lateral rupture (rake -193°). Slip peak is approximately 1.2 m at a depth of 1.6 km. The energy released is 7.6E+17 Nm, corresponding to an M 5.9 earthquake.
